CLINICAL CHEMISTRY
Lectures: Chemistry and Urinalysis
Lab Rotations: Chemistry (8 weeks) and Urinalysis (3 weeks)
This course is designed to:
- Provide theory and lab methodology in analytical biochemistry with emphasis on clinical decisions and medical significance
- Provide the student with basic theory necessary to understand the methodology and operations of laboratory instrumentation.
- Provide a comprehensive study of laboratory procedures useful in routine urinalysis and body fluid analysis with emphasis on clinical significance.
- Provide knowledge and skills in quality control, computer applications, instrumentation, troubleshooting, quality assurance/improvement, safety and governmental regulations
- Perform preanalytical, analytical, and post analytical processes and procedures in the Chemistry area.
