CLINICAL CHEMISTRY

📚Lectures: Chemistry and Urinalysis

🔬Lab Rotations: Chemistry (8 weeks) and Urinalysis (3 weeks)

This course is designed to:

  • Provide theory and lab methodology in analytical biochemistry with emphasis on clinical decisions and medical significance
  • Provide the student with basic theory necessary to understand the methodology and operations of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Provide a comprehensive study of laboratory procedures useful in routine urinalysis and body fluid analysis with emphasis on clinical significance.
  • Provide knowledge and skills in quality control, computer applications, instrumentation, troubleshooting, quality assurance/improvement, safety and governmental regulations
  • Perform preanalytical, analytical, and post analytical processes and procedures in the Chemistry area.
